What is Shut-off Valve?
Shut-off valves allow you to cut off the water without affecting neighbors. Every home has a main shut-off valve (near the water meter or under the sink) and usually individual valves per area (faucet, toilet, washing machine).
When you encounter it in an emergency & typical cost
In case of a leak, the FIRST step is to close the shut-off valve. If you cannot find it or it is seized, go to the building's water meter.
